SHOPPING FOR YOUR NEW OR PRE-OWNED VEHICLE
Congratulations! You have started your research online,
the best way to get all the information you need!
When shopping for your future vehicle you need to be educated
on what is available and what will fit your needs financially
and functionally. In other words, you should have a checklist
that includes your desired model(s), trim(s), color(s),
option(s) / feature(s) and either a monthly or total payment
that you can afford. In fact, you can use our
build your new
vehicle feature that allows you to build and get an invoice &
m.s.r.p. price with a great description of included and add on
options.
Shopping for a Pre-Owned Vehicle
When shopping for a pre-owned vehicle you need to remember,
not only are you shopping for a vehicle, you are shopping for
a reputable dealership and a knowledgeable sales consultant.
You need to do your research on
Kelley Blue Book,
NADA or
something the like. After you do your research and print out a
few pages you can arrive at the dealership, after making sure
your desired vehicle is in stock, and present your homework to
a sales consultant to gain some bargaining leverage.
Typically, when you are shopping for a readily available
vehicle, you can find the best value. Otherwise you might be
paying top-dollar for that hard to find vehicle. For example,
when a new vehicle or a re-design of a new vehicle hits the
market, you will find that there will be no rebates available
to the public. When that vehicle starts to hit the used market
dealerships are well aware that they can get top-dollar for
it. If you are a "bargain shopper", you want to find a vehicle
that has flooded the used market to get the best price.
Finally, be sure to
drive it before you buy it!

There are quite a few benefits when shopping for a new
vehicle. For starters, you will know that the condition will
be good & clean, your desired vehicle is easier to locate or
find on a dealership lot and most importantly the vehicle will
have a warranty.
You can usually find some of the best deals at the close of
the model year, which runs from June to January and sometimes
into March & February. However, your resale value might be a
little less by buying the last year's model.
DRIVE IT BEFORE YOU BUY IT!

Before you make your big investment be sure to take the
vehicle on a test drive. Even new purchases will differ in
ride quality with comparable wheels and tires (some trucks and
SUVs can be equipped with larger wheels and tires which
usually can decrease the riding quality). If the vehicle you
are shopping for is not listed as an "As-Is" vehicle then you
will usually have a limited warranty for peace of mind. During
that time, you need to make sure that it performs to your
satisfaction. Be sure to ask the salesman or seller what kind
of return or fix it options are available during its limited
warranty.
Some obvious signs of a sick vehicle are usually noticeable.
Be sure to keep an eye and ear out for the following:
Noises from the engine
A lot of smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe(s)
The transmission
doesn't lock in smoothly or jumps when in the
same gear
The vehicle shakes when the brakes are applied
